  1. Great site and very helpful. Amazing, especially as it is free to use. If I could suggest anything it would be that the league table would be more accurate if it were calculated by goal difference rather than by goals scored.

  2. Hi,

Is there any easy way to export/copy the generated fixture list into a spreadsheet (eg Excel) or table format in a document (eg Word) ?

    Thanks.

  3. @Michael – No such facility I’m afraid although if you know a friendly coder it’d be pretty easy to output “1,16” instead of “1 v 16”.

  4. I like your fixtures Generator and now I wanted to check if after you have the fixtures, you have a Logtable Generator too.

    I need it very much.

  5. Hi I am trying to generate fixtures for dart teams on a home and away basis but 3 venues have 2 teams playing from each venue can you help please

  6. @Lynn – You can use the fixtures generator linked here. Every team has a “partner” team that always plays away when they play at home.

  7. Hi
I remember using your fixture generator a few years ago to produce home and away fixtures for two divisions where a number of clubs had a first and second team in each division which could not play at home at the same time. Is it still possible to generate these fixtures and if so, what is the format for entering all the team data.
    Thanks

  8. @John – The generator will do this automatically. Each half of the draw has this property. So for example if you have four teams then teams 1 and 3 never play at home at the same time, and teams 2 and 4 never play at home at the same time. With 8 teams it’s teams 1&5, 2&6, 3&7, 4&8 and so on.

  9. Only problem I found with this, is the second half of the fixtures are back-to-front.

For example (below), fixtures generated for 4 teams. Rounds 4, 5 and 6 need to be reversed.

This page is part of bluebones.net.
    Fixtures for 4 teams.
    Round 1
    1 v 4
    2 v 3

    Round 2
    4 v 3
    1 v 2

    Round 3
    2 v 4
    3 v 1

Second half is mirror of first half
    Round 4
    4 v 2
    1 v 3

    Round 5
    3 v 4
    2 v 1

    Round 6
    4 v 1
    3 v 2

  10. Yeah that might be nicer. Avoids playing the same team on first and last day of the season while playing another team in two successive weeks in the middle. I’m not sure if there’s any arguments in favor of the “mirror” version.

  11. Hi
I am using your code in a suite of programs to create fixtues, publish results and League Tables. Thankyou. Results and Tables are OK am just working on exporting the fixtures to the database.
I would like to look at the oringinal discussion but Barry Chess Club links does not seem to be working. Can you help?

  12. @Tony – You can see it in the Wayback Machine, https://web.archive.org/web/20070202104329/http://www.barrychessclub.org.uk/berger2001.htm
